Manics Pick On Monahan at TPB 2011

As a tribute to the talent of our dear friend and Chairman For Ever (CFE) of the Manic Mt. Boys, Tom Monahan, the Manics spent the second half of 2011 making a recording of 15 songs from his large repertoire. The CD, called “The Manics Pick on Monahan”, has just been released with all proceeds going to Compassionate Care ALS, the group who helped Tom and his wife during his long illness. I am starting to experiment with the Add Link to Facebook plugin for WordPress. The plugin seems to provide complete integration between my website blog and Facebook, including integration of comments between both locations. So far, so good, more to come…

Underwater Photography

I’ve been doing underwater photography since my very first years of diving in the early 1980′s, starting out with a Nikonos V and SB103 flash, and shooting FujiChrome. I’m now on my third digital setup with a Canon G12 and twin Inon strobes. I’ve published my more recent work on the website, but the photos are scattered throughout the gallery which is arranged according to the specific vacation we were on. So, I have put together this quick list that provides direct access to the underwater photos that I am most proud of:

Soggy Spring Trip to Kauai

Our soggy Spring 2011 trip back to our timeshare on the North shore of Kauai. This was my first set of dives with my new underwater camera setup. So, there was a bit of a learning curve, but the results were pretty good considering that the visibility was not great due to all the turbulence.

The weekend following Myra’s birthday party, Max and I did a July 4th trip to Kennebunk, Maine with Josie, Deb, and Mary. We returned to stay at the dog-friendly Hounds Tooth Inn where we had stayed two years ago. This was Deb and Mary’s first evah visit to Maine and it made for quite a road trip. Lots of lobstah and steamahs were consumed along the way!

75th Birthday Celebration for Myra

Deb and Mary came in from Hawaii, and on June 25th we gathered friends and family at Splash Restaurant on the CT shore for perfect day to celebrate our mom, Myra’s, 75th birthday.

Underwater and above-water pictures are now published from our January vacation to Grand Cayman. Stayed at the Ritz Carlton on Seven Mile Beach and did five days of diving with Indigo Divers.

Tom Monahan, Manic Mt. Boy CFL (Chairman for Life) Passes

Dear friend Tom Monahan who suffered from ALS for the last several years, left this earth on Dec 3rd to join the great picking circle in the sky. His passing has spurred me to collect MMB pictures, videos, and other memories into new section of the website here: http://www.zeleznik-klein.com/mmb. Tom will be sorely and deeply missed by all who knew him, his humor, and his talent.

Travels 2010

Finally got pictures posted from two of our 2010 vacations. In January, we took a cruise aboard SilverSea’s Silver Shadow from Barbados to Ft. Lauderdale. In August, we escaped the New England heat wave to the cool Pacific Northwest coast of British Columbia. We flew into Victoria, spending four days there. Then we took the ferry to Vancouver and spent our remaining 4 days in the city.
