Mark Podwal's Exhibit "All This Has Come Upon Us", Fall 2024 Aug 11 – Sep 8, 2024

Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek (CBSRZ) in Chester, CT came into possession of #18 of 60 sets of "All This Has Come Upon Us", a series of 42 richly colorful, archival prints of acrylic, gouache and colored pencil works on paper by New York artist, Mark Podwal. The original collection was commissioned by and initially exhibited at the Terezin Ghetto Museum, Czech Republic in 2014 for its opening. The renderings chronicle the history of anti-Semitism from Pharaoh’s enslavement of the Israelites in Egypt to the birth of the State of Israel. I was asked to document the installation and opening reception of the exhibit in CBSRZ's Main Street Gallery.
