Conforti Shark Injector & CAI Apr 11, 2002 – Jun 29, 2016

Jim Conforti, a guru of BMW tuning, designed the "Shark Injector", a small device that plugs into the OBD port and reprograms the ECU for horsepower gains and a higher rev limit. In addition he created a companion cold air intake with an ITG foam filter. These were purchased through Turner Motorsport and I did the install myself.

ConfortiCAI-002 The first step for the cold air intake is to remove the factory air intake box. Start by loosening the clamp that holds the mass air-flow (MAF) sensor.

ConfortiCAI-003 Then pop the bail and disconnect the MAF cable.

ConfortiCAI-013 With the snorkel inserted into the heat shield, it takes some wiggling and maneuvering to get the shield into place.
